Separation and Isolation #2

“Where two or three gather in My name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:19.

I pray that you value, “UNITY IS PRECIOUS.”

In this recent and extended season, the fear and dread of an unprecedented virus prompted governmental authorities to require people to distance themselves from each another to counteract a growing worldwide concern. That cautious distance created a more serious , separation and isolation that resulted in a divisive loneliness. We have seen the negative impact when people experience sustained loneliness.

God created Adam and Eve, as well as you and me, to need and welcome one another’s company and contribution. We began this study when the Creator of Adam declared, “it is not good for man to be alone. I will make him a helpmeet.”

Everywhere Adam looked, he saw all things beautiful, bountiful, and  beyond his needs or imagined wants. Would you pause reading my words and open your Bible and read Genesis chapter 1 and 2, ALOUD and SLOWLY.

You need to both read the magnitude of creation, as well as hear the majesty and awesome power of the Creator. Did you try to place yourself there and envision the scene of creation. Did you pause to marvel and worship the Creator of all of that? Our petty worries pale in comparison with the greatness and grandeur of our Almighty God, Who Created all.

Yours and my daily concerns become minuscule when placed alongside the magnitude of our God Almighty. How can the vast power of God be released into the situations of yours and my daily life? How can we tap into the unlimited vastness of God’s love and power? That is the common quest of everyday life for each and every one of us. How do you and I experience the practical and powerful truth of the Bible’s promises?

God’s Word is consistent throughout the Old and New Testaments. His power is  released to whoever, whenever, and wherever true faith and agreement with God’s Word and will is in unity with others’ faith and agreement. Jesus was clear and certain, “19Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in Heaven. 20For where two or three gather in My name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18: 19-20 NIV. What powerful promises!

“How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! 2It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down on the beard, running down on Aaron’s beard, down on the collar of his robe. 3It is as if the dew of Hermon were falling on Mount Zion. For there (in unity) the Lord bestows His blessing, even life forevermore.” Psalm 133:1-3 NIV. Our God is serious about unity.

There can be neither separation, nor isolation, nor loneliness where there is unity in Christ Jesus and edifying Christian fellowship.

My prayer today is that you understand and value unity above all.
