Perfect Knowledge

“He knows the way that I take.” Job 23:10 NKJV

“There are times when you feel the limits of your imperfect knowledge.”

My thoughts today are about “perfect knowledge.”

However much any of us know, or at least think we do, there is so much that you cannot and do not know. In stark but wonderful contrast, there is neither limit nor anything hidden from God’s knowledge, nothing that He does not know. God’s knowledge is complete, not partial. “Oh the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?” Romans 11:33-34 NKJV. God’s wisdom and knowledge are without equal.

Now here’s the good part: you are at the heart of His knowledge, and are its beneficiary! “Every day of my life was recorded in Your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God; they are innumerable! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand. And when I wake up in the morning, You are still with me.” Psalm 139:16-18 NLT. He knows everything about you. Read Isaiah 46:9-10 NKJV.

But there will be times when you feel the limits of your imperfect knowledge, when facing situations for which you have no good answers, making choices less than certain about the right one, and with important options without perfect knowledge of the future. Job was in such a predicament; nothing made sense at the moment – except God! Read Job 1:1-2:10 NLT. All his previous assumptions were swept away in one crisis after another; and his friends’ well intended counsel did not help at all.

Job confessed his struggle, “I go forward, but God is not there, and backward, but I cannot perceive Him. When He works on the left hand I cannot see Him; when he turns to the right hand, I cannot see Him. But He knows the way that I take.” Job 23:8-10 NKJV. When you do not see Him; still He sees you. You may not know which way to go, but ”God knows the way that (you) take!”

Sunday, I taught from a simple, Bible verse, “But there is a God in heaven Who reveals secrets.” Daniel 2:28 NKJV. That’s the powerful reality that changes everything else. When nothing going on around you makes sense – problems may challenge everything you have known, painful questions may go unanswered, and circumstances may bewilder – “But there is a God in Heaven Who reveals secrets.” That is enough to know! This is one of those times when it really is true; “it is not what you know, but who you know that matters.”

When you know the God who knows all about anything that touches your life, you know all you need to know! “Though I walk in the midst of trouble . . your right hand will save me. The Lord will perfect that which concerns me. Your mercy, O Lord, endures forever.” Psalm 138:7-8 NKJV. Our God’s knowledge is perfect, His grace immeasurable, His love incomparable, and His power unequaled!

My prayer for you today is: be confident in God who knows all that concerns you.
